Overview

The S197 Mustang chassis uses a 3-link rear suspension system which consists of one upper control arm, two lower control arms and a panhard bar to control the rear end under the vehicle. Under hard loads the factory pieces tend to flex and rubber bushings deflect leading to poor traction and erratic handling. Replacing the factory pieces with stronger well designed items eliminates this flex allowing for better control of the vehicle and improved traction during launches. UMI’s control arm kit includes one rear upper control arm and a set of heavy duty boxed lower control arms. Control arm kit is built from 1/8” wall thickness USA steel tubing, MIG welded fabrication, glossy high quality powder coat finish and assembled with the premium greaseable polyurethane bushings. Installation is bolt in and uses factory hardware.
